Instead of reaching for the regular milk chocolate this year, use dark chocolate to create healthy Halloween treats that can be served to your guests. This is a time when Halloween parties are taking place across the city and many of your guests will be looking for healthier alternatives to sugary candy. Here are a couple of dark chocolate recipes you can use to create spooky Halloween treats.
Dark Chocolate Popcorn
This is an easy recipe that you can make quickly when you don’t have a lot of time to make your Halloween treats. Simply pop approximately 10 cups of popcorn, which equates to 1/3 cup of kernels and then melt half a cup of dark chocolate. Pour the dark chocolate into a small plastic bag, cut the tip off one corner of the bag and then drizzle the chocolate over the popcorn. For more variety add some pretzels to the mix before drizzling the chocolate.
Dark Chocolate Banana Mummies
This treat is also easy to prepare and the ingredients consist of bananas, white and dark chocolate and skewer sticks. Peel 10 bananas and then cut each one in half. Stick a skewer into the halves and dunk the bananas into a saucepan containing melted dark chocolate. Melt some white chocolate and drizzle it around the bananas creating a mummified effect. Place a couple of dark chocolate chips onto the white chocolate to create eyes and you’ll have banana mummies that your guests will adore.
