Earthy, nutty, and slightly smoky in flavor, dark wild rice is a nutrient-rich grain with a firm texture and naturally chewy bite. Despite its name, it is not true rice but an aquatic grass seed, prized for its deep color and robust taste. It pairs well with soups, salads, grain blends, poultry, and vegetable dishes. Simple Cooking Instructions: Rinse 1 cup of wild rice. Combine with about 3 to 4 cups of water or broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 40–50 minutes or until the grains have split open and are tender. Drain any excess liquid and fluff before serving.
